You could be a winner!

My friend Sue has a blog . It is usually absolutely hysterical. For the next ten days she is doing give-aways to prepare for Christmas. Today's give away is a sleep sack made by yours truly. If you would like a chance to win visit her blog and make a comment to enter in the drawing.

Good by my friend

Just to up date all of you faithful readers. The yellow focus has been declared "unfixable". There goes my free detailing. I think maybe the car was to dirty to detail.

I am sad to see the car go. This was the first car that Glen and I ever bought together. It was the car that we used during our itinerantion time. We had many family and chi alpha outings with her. Xander would run up to the car and yell while pointing "Yellow!".

The car will be missed. Especially in a crowded parking lot.

Please take a moment of silence to remember 'The curious george mobile" with us.

Ouch!

This morning as I was on my way to pick up a baby sitter so that Glen and I could go on a much needed date. When I was half way there I noticed that the light was red and I was not prepared to stop. As I slammed on my brakes. I thought for sure I would miss the car that was crossing the intersection. When I realized that I was not going to stop in time I closed my eyes so I would not have to see the impact

When I opened my eyes I was surrounded by a cloud of smoke so thick I could not see and it smelt like something was burning. My first thought was "oh God, I've died and gone to hell. I was so sure that I would have made it into heaven". I knew I was still alive but for those that know me humor is where I go when stressed or upset. Also the burnt smell and smoke was very intense.

I opened the door and was greeted by a helpful lady who asked if I was ok then insisted I get out of the car because she was afraid of all the smoke. Who knew air bags smoked so much.

A sad sad car.

You can not see very well but the windshield is shattered.

Both Glen and I were surprised to learn that the air bag was striped.

So the lady that I hit and I both walked a way with out any physical damage to our persons (praise the Lord). My car is in need of a healing. And the lady I hit had to ask me where I hit her car at because she could not see any damage. There was a small scratch but not even yellow paint on her car. In case you want to know what car can come out un-phased by a car accident. It is a Range Rover.

The bright side:
1. No one was hurt
2. No ticket issued because the cops do not come to no injury accidents.
3. And the repair shop will detail my car for "Free" after they repair it.

The down side:
1. I am emotionally tired and scared.
2. We are down to one car.
3. We will probably have to pay alot of money for a "free" detailing.

Also the friend who came to watch my kids, while Glen came to collect me on the side of the road, was rear-ended on her way home. What a day!

Trick or Treat

Last night I took the kids out to Trick or Treat in the neighborhood. Dana was a "My Little Pony" and Xander was a lion. At first Xander did not want to go but when he realized that he could get "POPS" he was more than eager to put on his costume and parade up and down the street. There were many treats received last night.

Checking out his lout.

Our new house

We are starting to settle in to our new house. I am loving it and I think the kids are as well. Glen and I have both noted that the kids get a lot dirtier since we have a yard and so do we, because of our filthy kids.

Here are a few photos for those of you who live to far away for a visit.

This is the front of the house taken from the carport.

This is our front door. It enters into the living/dining room

This is a view the living/dining room from the front door. The doorway you see in the back is the master bedroom and the white wall is the wall shared with the kids room. I like the fireplace and the kids love to play in the cubby next to it.

View of our kitchen and the doorway into the guest room/Dana's computer room. the kitchen is much larger than my previous one (but really anything would have had to been larger)

This is the guest room/Dana's computer room with the laundry room in the back corner. Having a washer and dryer in the house has been wonderful. Xander gets excited when he sees me wheel out the laundry cart, he loves to help push it and load the dryer.

Our bedroom has a great view of the backyard. Theatrically, I could lie in bed and watch the hummingbirds at the feeder.

Here is the view of the backyard, just outside my bedroom. It is very nice to have a yard compared to an extra large playpen.

I have been able to garden a little. I love to garden and now I have a yard. Look out spring time have I got plans for you.

Our new neighbors are great! It is a couple the same age as Glen and I with three young kids. Yesterday they passed a play structure over the fence that they did not need anymore. It has been a hit.

Xander loves the yard. The mud has become his favorite play thing and my worst nightmare.

But there is something to be said for a hard day of play, it makes for one tired kid!
