Ouch!

This morning as I was on my way to pick up a baby sitter so that Glen and I could go on a much needed date. When I was half way there I noticed that the light was red and I was not prepared to stop. As I slammed on my brakes. I thought for sure I would miss the car that was crossing the intersection. When I realized that I was not going to stop in time I closed my eyes so I would not have to see the impact

When I opened my eyes I was surrounded by a cloud of smoke so thick I could not see and it smelt like something was burning. My first thought was "oh God, I've died and gone to hell. I was so sure that I would have made it into heaven". I knew I was still alive but for those that know me humor is where I go when stressed or upset. Also the burnt smell and smoke was very intense.

I opened the door and was greeted by a helpful lady who asked if I was ok then insisted I get out of the car because she was afraid of all the smoke. Who knew air bags smoked so much.

A sad sad car.

You can not see very well but the windshield is shattered.

Both Glen and I were surprised to learn that the air bag was striped.

So the lady that I hit and I both walked a way with out any physical damage to our persons (praise the Lord). My car is in need of a healing. And the lady I hit had to ask me where I hit her car at because she could not see any damage. There was a small scratch but not even yellow paint on her car. In case you want to know what car can come out un-phased by a car accident. It is a Range Rover.

The bright side:
1. No one was hurt
2. No ticket issued because the cops do not come to no injury accidents.
3. And the repair shop will detail my car for "Free" after they repair it.

The down side:
1. I am emotionally tired and scared.
2. We are down to one car.
3. We will probably have to pay alot of money for a "free" detailing.

Also the friend who came to watch my kids, while Glen came to collect me on the side of the road, was rear-ended on her way home. What a day!
